His story
A failed leaving certificate student who lost his mother to cancer at 19, Jason was drifting around the world working as a waiter to support himself. By the age of 20 he was alone working in Paris, by 22 he was in Hong Kong boarding the QE2 Cruise liner to do a world cruise as a waiter. On his travels, he studied the great motivators such as Napoleon Hill, Anthony Robbins and Henry Ford.
In 1996, he returned to college to get himself off the unemployment line to do a community course in journalism, within 3 years he was writing the most read newspaper in his home country of Ireland with 1.3 million readers weekly. By 2000 he has founded the country’s biggest entertainment website and was paid to socialize with models, rock stars and millionaires. In 2000, he started to perform for charity and by 2007 was selling out 1,000 seater venues with his show The Irish Rat Pack.
Sadly, in 2006 he was fired by his newspaper, an event which lead him to the high court, where the paper had to apologize to him publicly and pay damages. But, by then it was too late, his media career was over. To add to the pain in 2008 his girlfriend of 7 years left him.
Showing the toughness and spirit he now shares in his keynote speeches. Jason started from the bottom again. He returned to college full time, while performing as a musician by night. He rebuilt his career by first volunteering with charities to help others dealing with life challenging issues while studying for his degree.
By 2011, he had graduated with a degree in Psychology, by 2012 a Masters in Applied Psychology from Trinity College. He wrote his first self-help book and got named on the Trinity Roll of Honour for his work helping cancer patients. That year he also opened The D4 Clinic from his front room.
Today, The D4 Clinic is one of the most famous and well respected therapy clinics in Ireland, featuring regularly on national and international media. The clinic helps clients with a wide range of psychological issues by using unique methods of psychology such as CBT, Mindfulness and clinical hypnosis.
